We’ve talked about it for some time now, but never previewed it. And one question I’ve gotten from time to time is… “What is Alien 9”

Alien 9, to be known as Alien Nine here in North America is based on Hitoshi Tomizawa, tells the story of Yuri, a new grade 6 student. Whose been voted (More like drafted) to become part of the school’s anti-alien squad. There’s one problem, she’s terrified of them. I wont go into too much more detail from there, this essay here does a great job of that. But what I will tell you is what to expect for this DVD. All for 4 episodes from this OVA, will indeed be released on one DVD (Unlike the Japanese release were it was on 4 discs). Screenplay is done by Sadayuki Murai, the screenwriter whose works include Boogiepop Phanton, Cowboy Bebop Movie, Prefect Blue and Millennium Actress. Needless to say, we're getting some brilliant and suspenseful story telling here.

CPM will be packing some great features on this such as Art & Sketch Galleries, Behind-the-Scenes Video (Making the English Dub), Alien Nine Japanese Promos, Producer Taro Maki Interview, Alien Nine Manga Preview, Alien Nine Trailers, English & Japanese with English Subtitles. 

Set for a release this July under US Manga Corps’ Collector’s Series label.
