I’m back, keeping my
promise by keeping this column updated. This week I’ll be
clearing a few things up about this column and other things I
feel is important… or not important your call.
First off, let’s take
care of some FAQs about me.
Q: What does
that math question equal too?
A: It’s an
Imaginary Number… a math question that has no answer no mater
how many times you try to figure it out. No it doesn’t equal
anime… or does it?
Q: Aren’t
Imaginary Numbers the bad guys from Front Mission 3?
A: Yes.
Q: What is an
Editorial Director?
A: I am
basically the guy that sits on top of Otaku Aniverse and
Gaming Media. Due to the lack of staff here, I’m also taking
on the job of Staff Writer, Executive Editor, Graphics
Designer and the guy to yell at when something isn’t right.
Q: Favorite
anime?
A: That’s a
hard one, Evanagelion, Utena, Key the Metal Idol, Lain,
Gasaraki… I could go on…
Q: Worst anime?
A: Tokyo
Project
Q: How long
have you been watching anime?
A: Another hard
one, I was first exposed to it in 1984… but I never really got
into the fandom until 1996 (or was it 1997?) When I saw Ghost
in the Shell… until then I had always been just a gamer… now
I’m both!
Q: Favorite
artist?
A: Tie between
Satoshi Urushihara and
Keiji Goto
Q: Were these
questions even asked by people?
A: Naw, I just
thought everyone wanted to know more about the person that
will be ranting every week…
Getting back to my
last episode for a sec, it seems it was brought to my
attention that there’s a real good reason behind the logo
change for Alien 9. Many thanks to Kathryn Williams to clear
this up.
I just read
your rant and thought you'd like to know there is a good
reason for changing the logo. All the titles for Hitoshi's
manga are created by an artist called Inden (I think that is
right, curses tiny type) They couldn't Hire a new artist just
to rewrite the title in teh same stayle as Inden now coupld
they? The Japanese titles is rather hard to read on it's own
and they had to add in a second normal typed title. If they
had the Japanese title it would confuse people and less would
buy it so they had to make a distinct difference between the
two. Considering this is the only change it is one I'm willing
to live with.
Well as long as there
is a reason behind the change, I suppose it is right. I had
originally thought they did it like other companies out there
because “It looks cooler this way.” The gaming world does this
a lot in fact.
Well that’s it for
this week folks! Next week I’ll have something more
interesting to read… but now I must continue my quest to get
through my endless pile of paper work that never gets done.
